Supporting Emotional Wellbeing & Mental Health In Children & Young People

This course helps to develop a deeper understanding of the complex issues relating to the mental health of children and young people.

Outline

Through case studies and group discussion, this course will help staff to develop skills and confidence in supporting children and young people with emotional and mental health needs, including anxiety, depression and self harm.

Description

  • This one-day course is delivered by 2 Educational Psychologist and focuses on strategies to promote emotional wellbeing.
  • Helps to develop a deeper understanding of the complex issues relating to the mental health of children and young people.
  • Participants will develop their understanding of the psychological impact of emotional and mental health such as anxiety, self harm & depression
  • Will be encouraged to develop skills that help to identify suitable approaches in supporting young people mental health needs.

Outcomes

By the end of the course participants will have:

A deeper understanding of the complex issues relating to children and young people and mental health.

A better understanding of anxiety in children and young people.

Strategies to promote emotional wellbeing.
