This three-day programme is especially designed for NQTs or teachers changing age-groups to develop their EYFS knowledge and practice

Outline

The aims of the course are:
  • To develop an enabling and exciting learning environment (both inside and out) and effective classroom organisation and management strategies;
  • To support the development of quality observation, assessment and planning cycle and prepare you for completing the revised EYFS profile;
  • Develop your understanding of the ways in which young children learn and the characteristics of effective learning, which are now statutory elements of the EYFS framework

Description

This three-day programme is especially designed for NQTs or teachers changing age-groups to develop their EYFS knowledge and practice
Each day will cover the essential parts of your teaching role, from setting up your environment and making on-entry assessments that can inform curriculum planning, right through to feeling confident making end of year EYFS Profile judgements.
There will be personalised gap tasks and activities to undertake between the training sessions to strengthen your practice

Outcomes

  • To be able to organise and manage an effective EYFS learning environment that will inspire and support children's learning
  • To equip you with strategies for observing, assessing and planning next steps in young children's learning and for completing the revised EYFS profile
  • To develop your understanding of the EYFS curriculum, the ways in which young children learn, and the role of the audit

Audience

NQTs in schools who are teaching EYFS aged children and/or teachers who are new to teaching in this age group or who have changed age-groups and wish to refresh their knowledge
