Institute of Conflict Management-accredited training in positive handling strategies for child- and adult

Outline

Our aim: to support teaching, learning and caring, by increasing staff confidence and competence, in responding to behaviours that challenge, whilst promoting and protecting positive relationships.

This course covers personal safety, risk-reduction strategies and positive handling, together with documentation and legal guidance.
Participants will receive a Course Workbook and Certificate. (Certification for this course is valid for 36 months).

Outcomes

By the end of the session you will have:

  • Developed shared values which promote the attitude, skill and knowledge needed to implement Team-Teach in the workplace
  • Practised positive handling skills in behaviour management including verbal and
non-verbal communication, diversion and de-escalation and safe effective, humane physical interventions.
  • Explored skills in positive listening and debrief.

Booking Information

At least two members of staff need to attend the training, one of which should be a member of the Senior Leadership Team (unless already trained)
