We enable Wiltshire Schools to deliver high quality Learning Outside of the Classroom experiences (LOTC) that support, enrich and extend teaching and learning as well as manage risks appropriately
Supply Pool Insurance
Valuable cover for the costs associated with sickness absence. The scheme has very few exclusions and is run for the mutual benefit of schools
Medical Needs Education and Reintegration Service
The Medical Needs Education and Reintegration Service (MNERS) is a small team of specialist Teachers and Support Workers. We provide a secondary age teaching support service for children and young people of compulsory school age (pre-16 level) who are unable to attend school due to a diagnosed medical reason. Separate support arrangements can be made for children of primary school age.
The service works closely with schools, health professionals, parents/carers and other LA Teams and external agencies to promote the educational inclusion and achievement of children and young people who are experiencing a variety of health-related needs
Working in Partnership
A key driver of the Education Transformation Partnership (ETP) is to enable greater collaboration and peer to peer work, enabling schools to respond effectively to their own and national priorities and to facilitate and secure collective school improvement. In so doing we aim to create a strong, self-improving, self-sustaining school led system to improve educational outcomes for every child in Wiltshire.
To this end, Wiltshire Local Authority works in close partnership with six Teaching School Alliances and three Diocese to shape both provision and support for schools.
