Medical Needs Education and Reintegration Service
The Medical Needs Education and Reintegration Service (MNERS) is a small team of specialist Teachers and Support Workers. We provide a secondary age teaching support service for children and young people of compulsory school age (pre-16 level) who are unable to attend school due to a diagnosed medical reason. Separate support arrangements can be made for children of primary school age.
The service works closely with schools, health professionals, parents/carers and other LA Teams and external agencies to promote the educational inclusion and achievement of children and young people who are experiencing a variety of health-related needs

Therefore, supporting governors with arguably the most important decisions they will make is a priority for the Local Authority. For this reason, governors of LA maintained will be provided with an external adviser for the equivalent of 15 hours to support with this important decision to include support with:

There is no such thing as a perfect headteacher or leader. Every school is different: what suits another school will not necessarily suit yours; what served your school well in the past may not serve it well for the future. Define your leadership needs in terms of what you expect your headteacher to know and to do and how you expect them to behave, convert these into selection criteria and rate candidates objectively against them throughout the process.
