A key driver of the Education Transformation Partnership (ETP) is to enable greater collaboration and peer to peer work, enabling schools to respond effectively to their own and national priorities and to facilitate and secure collective school improvement. To this end, Wiltshire Local Authority works in close partnership with six Teaching School Alliances and three Diocese to shape both provision and support for schools.

There is no such thing as a perfect headteacher or leader. Every school is different: what suits another school will not necessarily suit yours; what served your school well in the past may not serve it well for the future. Define your leadership needs in terms of what you expect your headteacher to know and to do and how you expect them to behave, convert these into selection criteria and rate candidates objectively against them throughout the process. Set realistic expectations and a manageable number of selection criteria.
